Life in the style of the creator of “Ice Pack.”

“Ice Pack” was introduced to the Iranian dictionary in 2007 by Babak Bakhtiari. He quickly became a familiar word in people’s minds. Many fans may not remember Ice Pack ice cream. Since when did they first taste it? Launching this brand is a vivid memory for someone who thought about the taste of ice cream and fruit at the height of bankruptcy. He is the manager of Ice Pack chain stores in Iran and some other countries. He can be boldly said to be one of the youngest entrepreneurs in Iran today.

He was neither a nobleman nor had a large fortune. He did not belong to any political faction to support him. His creativity, perseverance and positive outlook are the essential factors in his success.

It does not always take a lot of money to start a new business. Knowing an investor or having a perfect business plan is not enough to convince economic institutions. Sometimes a pure idea will go much faster than a pocket full of money.

Like many successful people, Babak Bakhtiari has had a difficult life and has faced many challenges. From bankruptcy to the variety of events that we mention in the fascinating biography of this successful entrepreneur. But despite all these difficulties, he has been able to learn from every failure and create incredible businesses by using creativity and innovation—companies with many branches in Iran and other neighbouring countries.

In this article, you will not only get acquainted with the habits that make Babak Bakhtiari successful, but you will also learn how to stand up in the face of failures, and use creativity to create outstanding achievements.

Babak Bakhtiari

The calm before the storm

Babak Bakhtiari was born in 1978 on a hot summer day in Tehran. He lived abroad with his family until he was seven years old. When he watched the streets with his mother, he dreamed of seeing a chain of supermarkets in his childhood dream. He always dreamed of having a chain restaurant like McDonald’s. When he returned to Iran, he sold the items he had brought with him that were interesting to his friends! If he took a souvenir, he would sell it even when he did not need the money. He enjoyed the feeling of making money and buying and selling.

From childhood, he was very interested in earning money and financial independence. He wanted to finance himself. Secretly and out of sight of his parents, he used his money to buy chocolates, chewing gum and cakes in his pocket to sell in front of the neighbourhood pool.

The first storm, the bankruptcy of the father

When Babak Bakhtiari was 14 years old. His father went bankrupt; then, Their home was confiscated; finally, they moved to their grandmother’s house. He no longer took money in his pocket. Because he saw and understood the family’s situation, he bought some cold sandwiches in the morning. Provide his allowance. He did this out of sight of his family to not upset them.

School of Life

I started a new course of education at Musa Ibn Ja’far High School. I will never forget the days I spent in high school. I entered the schoolyard for the first time. There were lines everywhere when we all lined up.

Remarks of Mr. “Tajrad”

The school principal spoke to us: You, dear teenagers, have entered a new phase of your life. That is a compassionate time; Because you have to become familiar with concepts such as responsibility and commitment in practice. In this school, besides studying, you have to do lots of work, all of which are planned.

We do not have a moderator here who wants to bring order to you here. Not an employee cleans the rubbish under the table and in the yard. I think all of you young people have gotten to the point where you can handle these things. All your secretaries and I trust you. Our relationship with you continues outside of school. Not because we want to control you. But because you can learn independence and self-reliance.

The result of Mr Tejard’s speech

I learned from Mr Tejard that I would study in a particular system. My family welcomed the system very much. My father used to say, “Here, you not only learn lessons, but you also understand how you have to perform your duties in the community.” Early school work was hard. But over time, we all got used to it. Outside of school, we all followed the principles and rules of the school.

Taste of monetization

After negotiating with the principals of the three schools, I was able to rent a buffet for one academic year with very little capital. I bought three second-hand and old refrigerators for one hundred and fifty thousand tomans, then set up the buffet of these schools. It made good money. I was looking for another job in the summer due to school closures. One day my father asked me. I have to sell worn-out equipment due to changing office supplies at work.

I also managed to sell them in a short time. When I saw the income potential, I started buying and selling second-hand appliances. I bought second-hand equipment through newspaper ads. I was painting the house on the second floor, and I entered the market after that. When I started, I closed the school cafeteria. I discussed the plan to make a desk with my father. I have made a lot of progress in this field, based on my previous experiences in selling desks. The centre of computer desks in Valiasr Street with the cooperation of one sh

I started with Rick. I created two branches from the centre of computer desks quickly.

But because of inexperience and haste to progress due to negligence in dealing with my partner, I got into trouble and went bankrupt.

It was there that I saw the only way to pay off my debts was to cultivate a creative mind and a new business. The idea of a “super service house” came to my mind, which delivers food to citizens. This is where I made my decision. To attract different manufacturers’ attention, advertise their products at the house door in the newspaper.

I quit because I did not have enough time to pay off my debts. I thought of starting something else. I always said that something could succeed if it comes up with a new idea. Babak Bakhtiari began his other business in 1997 to sell all home appliances and furniture.

To use it as a means of transportation to the university. Travel with it in the streets of Tehran. He earned about 10 thousand tomans a day from this work. But it was not a job that suited his mood. After a while, because of the great interest in selling food.

With the sale of Peykan and the cooperation of my aunt’s husband and some loans, he set up a burger mound in Golestan Passage. But due to many financial problems, after a year, I was forced to give up this job with a debt of two million Tomans. So I came up with the idea of starting a business at a lower cost.

Babak Bakhtiari recession

Contrary to many people’s beliefs. They must always progress in Iran or anywhere else with wealth, rent or paternal support. I thought the opposite. I did not want to get help from my family.

I wanted to start myself at a time when I was very needy. I didn’t even have enough money to go to university. Again, I did not turn to anyone. Sometimes I even went some way or by bus. I never considered it a shame.

Perhaps this is one of the major problems of our youth now. They do not want to give in to anything.

Suppose you should know what to do at any given time. It’s not going to be what you do for the rest of your lives. It’s what you start with.

The same period coincided with the period of my bankruptcy. In 2004, I went bankrupt. At that time, I saw that my work had grown. At the same time, my financial source is cut off. I had some assets, but I could not convert them into cash for my debts.

Because I owed more than I owed, the game got to where I decided to accept this defeat. People have to be brave sometimes. When faced with a crisis, do not proceed in the wrong way. Continuation of some businesses causes negative profits.

I endured this pressure, but I refused to drop the money.

The consequence of accepting bankruptcy was that my creditors did not tolerate it. I was arrested. I had to make a strategic retreat and escape. But finally, I was arrested. When I was arrested, the creditors realized that there was no money. My stay in prison is of no use to them. I received the money through the same shopping centre at my request and the capital; I received 30 million shares and divided that money among the creditors. Until they are satisfied, I will get out of prison; To work and pay off the rest of my debts.

Release from prison and prosperity of Babak Bakhtiari Ice Pack

I was in jail for several months. I came out after that. I resumed my office supplies. But this time without any credit or capital. At that time, I was thinking of a new idea. I felt I had gained enough experience. I was considered bankrupt by others. But I thought I was extreme. This feeling was essential to me.

People who have now failed or experienced failure should consider themselves strong and proud of their loss. All the people who win are defeated enough to win. It was during bankruptcy that I designed the ice pack. The design of this brand coincided with my bankruptcy crisis. The idea was born in that crisis, and I pursued my dreams as usual.

The name of the ice pack

Brand S. Pack

Ice Pack is a brand that eats ice cream. Because in branding, you have to use words. Ice, which is similar to the word ice cream. The Pack also reminds the customer of the unique packaging of this ice cream. The combination of these two words made this brand. The name Ice Pack was also my idea. Because we wanted to be global, we chose such a name to export the brand in the world.

Babak Bakhtiari Ice Pack

Belief in beliefs

We were sure from the beginning that we could reach the ice pack export stage. I have a great idea in mind from the start. I believe that Iranian people would like the idea of the Ice Pack. Man can trust his beliefs only when his worldview grows. I had lost so much that I was no longer an ordinary person in these matters. I had all the experience. We have provided ice packs in every country so far. This fruit ice cream game was my initiative.

License allowed

After designing the ice pack, choosing its name – because, in Iran, it was necessary to have a Persian name

Be sure to use it – I found a Persian meaning for the ice pack that the same frog is disappointed with, a two-sided name. We could also use it for export. Also, in Iran as a Persian word.

Ice means despair and hopelessness, and Pack, frog in Persian. In this way, we were able to get the permission of the Ministry of Guidance for painting. I want to tell young people to think about their dreams. Not to what they do not have. Go on the path of your dreams. The key to success in entrepreneurship is positive thinking.

I established the first Ice Pack branch with the money I borrowed. Launching the first branch cost 10 million tomans, while I already had a debt of 300 million tomans. I was lost. I said, let me do another loan. I owe someone who did not know. Add to all my debts, after opening the first branch. The popularity was so great that we opened another 120 branches of Ice Pack across the country in six months. After that, I went to Dubai. There I opened Ice Pack branches. After that, I expanded the components to Kuwait. This was the beginning of my path to globalization.

At the beginning of launching Ice Pack, I had not yet sought permission. But when the number of Ice Pack branches reached 120 branches. We were asked to inquire from now on. Let’s go for approval. This caused the branching process to slow down and eventually stop. After that, we opened the brand of the year for our product and ice cream. Which also became a chain. We have already opened two food brands, Cheloush and Shandiz Stars. With these two brands, our collection became more detailed. The year’s welcome was also triumphant, but our idea of ice cream was universal. This ice cream is a healthy ice cream that is made without sugar. It is the competitor of the ice pack of the year.

Entrepreneurship rules

I do not believe that entrepreneurs are just looking for financial gain—other issues involved, including finance, legislation, licensing, and government cooperation. Sometimes government cooperation in the form of a letter can relieve pressure on an entrepreneur. One of my beliefs is that you have to change society’s culture in this general wave. Every official knows when working with an entrepreneur. It is engaged in economic jihad.
